Weekend Trip to Vienna

Back in November 2017 I had a long weekend in Vienna. It has always been a place I had wanted to go but not one of those ‘Oh my gosh I have to go’ places. Does that make sense?

Anyway, I was having a look at British Airways’ summer sale and they had a deal for Business Class flights and a hotel in a decent location for something like £240 (I can’t remember the exact price) so decided to go for it, and let me tell you, I do not regret it for one minute. Not only was the Business Class experience pretty darn amazing but Vienna is beautiful and their tube system, which they call the U-Bahn, is soo easy to use and navigate! I think I even prefer it to the tube system we use back home in London and that’s pretty good.

Of course it being November it was pretty chilly but the sun was still shining and the sky was still beautiful and blue for the first couple of days. There was a day or two where it was a little grey but that’s expected for the time of year.

I didn’t realise how much there was to do in Vienna but turns out there is TONS! Unfortunately I ran out of time to do everything I wanted to do but I did go to the following (in no particular order):

  • Schönbrunn Palace and surrounding gardens (Outside only)
  • St Stephen’s Cathedral (Outside only)
  • Museumquartier
  • Haus see Musik
  • Haus des Meeres
  • Technisches Museum Wien
  • Jesuit Church (Outside only)
  • Naturhistorisches Museum

I loved Vienna and would definitely recommend a visit! There are a few things that I wished I had done, The Spanish Riding School in particular, so I would 100% go back. The only negative thing to say is that the Museums/Palaces are pretty pricey to get into. So if you do plan on going then just be prepared.

As you’ll see below, I took tons of pictures again. Vienna is another one of those places that has amazing architecture, which is perfect for a snap happy person like me! 🙈

Thanks for reading x
