Weekend in Scotland

This weekend we (Me, my mum and my aunt) flew up to Scotland for my Granny’s birthday which was on Sunday.

We usually fly up on a Friday after work but this time we decided to fly on Saturday lunchtime. We got to the airport quite early as my Mum and Aunt had to check in their cases (And I’m a bit OCD about getting there with plenty of time to spare). Unfortunately our flight was delayed for an hour. Typical eh? We could have had that extra hour outside enjoying the lovely warm sunny day that we were finally having! Maybe Spring has finally arrived in the U.K!

Alas, we ended up just sitting in Giraffe and getting some proper food, instead of just a quick sandwich. Time slowly ticked by as we all sat there being anti-social and looking at our phones 😂 Finally, what seemed like hours later the gate showed and we finally got on the plane. Yipeee!

The flight as usual was pretty quick and about an hour later we were in Scotland. My Uncle picked us up from the airport and drove us to Granny’s.. After saying hello to Granny and doing the rounds of hugs we went into the living room had a cuppa, a hot cross bun and a gypsy cream (True Granny staple! It’s basically two oaty biscuits sandwiched with icing sugar in the middle. YUM) whilst we all sat around chatting. Later in the day my Uncle, Evelyn and my two cousins turned up and we had fish and chips for dinner. After dinner we had my Granny’s home made syrup pudding (Despite all being full).. Does anyone else have a separate part of your stomach which is always has space for dessert or that just me? 😂

After stuffing our faces my Uncle and Co headed home whilst we chilled on the sofa and watched TV before heading to bed.

On Sunday we headed out to lunch to celebrate Granny’s birthday at a restaurant/hotel called Loch Lomond Arms in Luss. The food these is soo good! All full up we decided to take a little walk down to the Loch to burn off all the food we had just eaten. Even on a gloomy day it looked beautiful. Of course I took lots of pictures which you’ll see at the bottom of this post.

After our little walk we all headed back to Granny’s and had a couple of drinks and a chilled evening. Which is exactly what was needed after so much food. At about 10pm I headed off to bed as I had to be up super early to get my flight back home before work.

Early start at 5:30 and out the door just before 6. I get to the airport only to find out that the flight was delayed. Not had much luck with flights this weekend 😂

Overall, lovely weekend was had with my family.

See photos below if you want to see how beautiful our lunch location was.
